John Scholes Medal

The John Scholes Medal was first awarded in the 2003/04 Men's 1st XI Grand Final (though a Medal had been awarded since the 2001/02 Final) for the Player of the Final in recognition of the service given to Cricket in Victoria by the late William John 'Barrel' Scholes.

Scholes to this day holds the record for the most Premier/District 1st XI Games played (396 between Carlton and Fiztroy Doncaster) and was also a former Victorian Player, Captain and was State Coach at the time of his sudden passing in 2003.
