All to play for in final round of Women’s First XI one-day season.

It’s set to be a grandstand finish in the Women’s First XI one-day competition this coming weekend.

Whilst Geelong and Box Hill are confirmed to meet in the qualifying final, third and fourth is still well and truly up for grabs.

We take a look at what each team from third to seventh must do if they are to play in the upcoming Women’s First XI One-Day finals.

Prahran – 3rd (30 points, Net Run Rate (NRR) 0.184)

Been a strong fortnight from the True Blues that’s seen them jump into third place in the Women’s First XI One-Day table.

All they must do now is win against Plenty Valley at Yarrambat War Memorial Park to host the elimination final.

Lose then they leave the door open for the three sides sitting below them to jump over them and miss finals all together.

Melbourne – 4th (28 points, NRR 0.41)

Chances of hosting a final were given a huge dent last weekend in their loss to Prahran, but still sit in the top four due to Carlton having the bye.

Again, must win to confirm their finals spot and if the True Blues lose then they could retain the right to host the elimination final.

Lose then it’ll all come down to the Blues, Rams and Panthers results the same day, with a win to one of Carlton or Ringwood enough to see Melbourne miss finals.

Carlton – 5th (28 points, NRR 0.217)

After sitting inside the top four heading into their final bye of the season, Prahran’s win sees them drop out heading into the final round.

Simply must win against minor premiers Geelong in order to play finals and require one of Melbourne or Prahran to lose their games.

If they have the same result as Melbourne though then net run rate becomes a factor on which one of those sides play finals

Ringwood – 6th (25 points, NRR -0.054)

Have come charging towards finals since the resumption of action in late January, but last weekend’s loss to Geelong put a stop to their recent run of wins.

It’s now a do or die game at EMP for the Rams this weekend and will also need Carlton and one of Melbourne and Prahran to drop their final home and away games this weekend.

Lose then a promising end to the 2024-25 season for Ringwood will come to an end, as will be the case for the side below them.

Dandenong – 7th (22 points, NRR -0.493)

Gave themselves every chance of playing finals after getting over the line in a rain-reduced game at home against Plenty Valley.

Have to win again and win big as well with their net run rate and will need the three sides above them to lose.
