Carlton defies history to win epic Grand Final


Carlton won the Men’s Premier 1st XI Grand Final by seven wickets over Casey South Melbourne at Windy Hill on the weekend.


The Blues created history by becoming just the fourth side to conjure a reverse outright win after trailing the Swans by 41 runs at the end of the first innings.


Carlton was set a final session run chase of 251 off just 36 overs, winning the match with 5.2 overs to spare.


Casey South Melbourne opener and Victorian Squad Member, Ash Chandrasinghe, was awarded the John Scholes Medal for Player of the Final for his double of 53 and 103*, becoming just the fourth batsman in a Grand Final to carry his bat through the innings.
